About Capital Xtra Reloaded
Capital Xtra Reloaded is a UK digital radio station dedicated to hip-hop, R&B, garage, grime and dance classics from the 1990s and 2000s. It broadcasts from Birmingham and is part of the Global radio group, running alongside Capital XTRA as a sister station. If you know Capital XTRA, think of Reloaded as the throwback channel: no current chart material, just the tracks that defined two decades of Black British and American music.
On DAB, it reaches London. Beyond that, the Global Player app is the main route in for most listeners, and it also streams free online here. The stream runs in AAC at 48 kbps, which is workable for background listening though not hi-fi quality.
The playlist is the whole point. This is the station you put on when you want early-2000s grime, 90s R&B slow jams, UK garage and the hip-hop records that still hold up. It does not try to be current, and that is exactly why it exists.
