102.7 KIIS-FM is LA’s top-rated pop station, part of iHeartMedia. The morning show is hosted by Ryan Seacrest — he also does afternoons at Z100 in New York, which is a lot of radio for one person. Sisanie, Gabby Diaz, JoJo Wright, and EJ cover the rest of the day.
The station runs two annual concerts that get real attention: Wango Tango in summer and Jingle Ball in December. Both tend to book whoever is charting that year. Artist interviews happen through the Helpful Honda Music Lounge, and there are usually a few ticket contests running — right now it’s Aespa at Intuit Dome and Chris Brown with Usher at SoFi Stadium.
The playlist is standard LA pop radio. A recent afternoon had Zara Larsson, Olivia Dean, and Nelly back to back, which gives you a fair idea of the range. It leans current but isn’t afraid to throw in something from 2002 between new releases.
